Summary: typetree issues
Description:
When at a certain object (say a pdir) a pobject::typetree.ini is defined
with extra subtypes (say for under the pdir) These objects show up in the
new-object window as available, but not in the type-selection list for the
templates. So I can create the subtype objects, but not style them..

Hi Gerhard,
This is explained in the announced made when version 2.4.1. came out.
I quote:
"You still have to add the new class to the types list,
/system/ariadne/types/. Otherwise you won't be able to select it to create
your templates."
So just create a pobject with the proper data and it will show up in the
objectlist for templates.
Good luck,
Bas

Remains the question why a new array arTypeNames is needed as this info is
available in the TypeTree itself already.. (as I expected. So no bug, just
weird..)

The quote made by Bas is out of date, as the typetree.ini template doesn't
rely on the /system/ariadne/types/ directory anymore. So, the arTypeNames
directory _is_ necessary as you otherwise don't have the names of the
types.
